Happy New Year!

How beautiful is that!

WHAT IF we sang to our children at those milestone events in their lives AND sang to them when they were off track, as opposed to punishing them? Can you imagine what this world would be like, experiencing that kind of love from parents and the community? What difference would that have made in YOUR life? It's something to think about.

Children do need boundaries and they need guidance. This is absolutely true. The key is to provide loving guidance and boundaries, along with respect. As we become more and more conscious in how we parent and interact with children (and ourselves), we heal the planet and bring peace to the world.

Remember ... it takes a village to raise a child. Whether you have children or not, you ARE raising children in this world. We are role models for every child that comes across our path. See those children as the love and innocence they are. Yes, kids get out of line, and test the boundaries, and get into spats. They're human, and they are learning about the world around them. We can still come back to love and respect, recognizing their innocence. It is a learning and teaching opportunity for all of us. We can teach with love ... perhaps even singing their beautiful soul song. In doing this, we are gifting children (and ourselves) with an opportunity to retain self-respect, honor, and self-love. The next generation of children will receive all of that ... and much, much more!

This is called paying it forward. Start today. Start with one child. Even start with yourself. Have compassion for YOU, for your childhood, for your parents who didn't know any better. It all comes back to love. It can all be healed.
